Daggerheart 1.3 Release Day & Livestream

Daggerheart Open Beta Playtest 1.3 is now available! Dive into the new materials at Daggerheart.com/play, DriveThruRPG, and Demiplane, and take a close look at the Change Log to get a sense of the updates, from major to minor. 

Key changes are:

• Damage & Stress have been decoupled, simplifying the flow of how players calculate the impact of damage and allowing Stress to be a more reliable resource to power your abilities. We expect this to make damage a little easier to manage, and for you to have better control over Stress as your resource.
• GM Moves and Fear: When a player rolls with Fear, GMs can now choose to make a move immediately or take Fear to use later, not both. This reduces the Fear economy for the GM, and makes it more impactful when the GM chooses to use Fear. 
• Several game-wide mechanics have been adjusted (see Chapter 2), including how advantage/disadvantage works, helping an ally, how to handle group rolls, and more.

Updating to 1.3

With these changes and other updates, a lot of rebalancing and edits have come to Daggerheart 1.3, so here’s the easiest way to get started:

To update your current characters and gameplay to the new version, we recommend you review the All v1.3 Updates folder or visit the Change Log on our webpage here. Determine which cards you need to grab new versions of, and print new character sheets and reference sheets which have all been updated. All the cards that received changes are included in a handy 1.3 Updated Card folder in the downloadable file. Note that the Quickstart Adventure hasn’t yet been updated to 1.3, but that will be coming soon! 

As always, tell us about your gameplay experience in the player and GM surveys, whether it’s about version 1.2 or 1.3. We can make use of your data no matter which version you’re reporting on! We’re eager to hear how the changes in 1.3 impact your gameplay.
